The purpose of the project was to upgrade, extend and refurbish the 25 year old, Wanneroo Aquatic Centre and turn it in to the brand new Aquamotion Aquatic Centre.
Being a structure of considerable age, the project presented several of its own unique challenges. Many items within the existing building were in poor condition and were not able to be reused. With the required replacement of many items, the overall quality of the project was significantly increased to deliver a much improved facility back to the community. The main features of the project are the Children’s Splash Pad – a rubber floored external play area scattered with water jets and novelty water features and the Hot Water Pool which is especially designed for hydro therapy. Other parts of the construction included a gym and aerobics area, a new entry foyer, the spa, sauna and deep water pool, the refurbishment of the existing pools and buildings, and a new carpark with landscaping.
The aquatic centre refurbishment was a unique project for Badge to complete and the result is an exciting addition to the City of Wanneroo.
