This stunning polished black oxide precast concrete building consists of office facilities, wet laboratories, auto clave, a dark room, various conference rooms with catering quality kitchen facilities - all for the use of up to 16 Bio Science research companies.
The Thebarton BioScience Business Incubator provides premises for companies at the inception of new ideas and scientific discovery, to promote and support further research and development. It took 13 months for the completion of the 3600m2 building located within a 3800m2 site. The design features an automated louvre façade covering the entire northern elevation of the building - providing an innovative way to reduce the heat loads to the building during the daylight hours. The two-storey building makes a statement on the near vacant adjoining site where a further ‘village’ of BioScience Buildings will be constructed over the next 10 – 15 years.
