Badge undertook several refurbishment projects around the Edith Cowan University to revitalise the campus and make it as modern as the new students going through it.

The largest component of this project was the extension & refurbishment of the library to revitalise the building – providing more modern finishes including polished concrete, timber panelling, glass balustrades and curtain walling. Fresh paint, carpets, new furniture and work stations were also included.

In all of this, it was important that the interaction between the old and the new was seamless, ensuring that the renovations didn’t make the existing area’s look out of place.  Works also included considerable renovations to the WAPPA Theatre where seating was removed and the tiered levels were adjusted to meet current safety code requirements. Extra storage room was created under the seating and new hand rails were installed.

The old has officially met the new in a most complimentary manner. So much so, that Badge is entering this project for a 2009 Master Builders Association Award.
