SA Water
Mt Barker, SA
Tendered
$2m +

Badge won the tender to construct the new SA Water Outer Metro Regional Offices in Totness, a new subdivision in Mt Barker.  SA Water required an office space for staff to monitor SA Water equipment and their water stations throughout the state.

Badge were involved in the construction of the base building and external works to include the carpark and landscaping, the integrated fit out of work stations and all furniture and equipment ready for occupancy.  The single storey building was constructed of precast concrete columns, steel roof structure, a combination of colourbond roof/wall cladding with Trespa external cladding and external aluminium windows with comfort plus glass.

This building was the first constructed by Badge with the intention of gaining accreditation for a 5 Star Green Star Rating. This was a positive and challenging experience for Badge learning the processes and ensuring they were compliant with the Green Star requirements.

The building included two underground rain storage tanks for water retention, a Building Management System to monitor water/power consumption and control of mechanical ventilation system remotely, water efficient landscape irrigation, solar hot water and motion sensor office lighting to reduce electricity usage.

Badge worked closely with a waste contractor to ensure there was as little site waste as possible, with the project culminating in 93% of waste being recycled.

It was a privilege for Badge to be involved in this environmentally conscious project and has injected a desire within the company to place importance on similar projects and environmental outcomes.
