This project involved the construction of a state-of-the-art Police Station situated on a major arterial road in Brisbane’s Southside. This facility has the capacity to cater for up to 60 staff members and includes a Traffic Branch, Criminal Investigation Branch, Child Protection Investigation Units and accommodation for general duties, as well as the installation of complicated IT and security systems. Replacing the former run down Goodna Police Station branch, this new facility is highly anticipated and is a welcome addition to the fast growing district.
Badge handed over the facility in December 2009, well inside its contractual completion date of January 2010, which is a great achievement considering the amount of wet weather that occurred during the initial site and building slab works.
The end result is a facility that will ensure local police are well resourced to fight crime and protect the greater Springfield community and surrounding areas.
